Overview
J-U-B’s Electrical Engineering Group conducted an NFPA 70E arc flash hazard assessment study and provided the associated personal protective equipment (PPE) labeling at the City’s Water Treatment Plant. The project involved:
- Data collection:
- Obtaining all existing one-line diagram information and equipment locations
- Physically inspecting facility and completing one-line diagrams
- Physically locating all included electrical equipment
- Field verifying equipment ratings, conductor size, and length
- Performing studies using ETAP modeling software:
- Protective device coordination
- Short circuit
- Providing results:
- Updating one-line diagrams with study information
- Providing tabular report
- Printing arc flash labels
- Applying arc flash labels
- Providing Operator training
