Twin Falls Airport Taxiway Rehabilitation Project

Airport Overview
The Joslin Field-Magic Valley Regional Airport, located just south of Twin Falls and co-owned by the City of Twin Falls, is a key regional transportation hub supporting passenger, cargo, general aviation, agricultural, military, and BLM operations. Ranking fourth among Idaho’s commercial airports, it sees about 25,000 operations annually and hosts 110 based aircrafts.

Taxiway A Rehabilitation Project
A major infrastructure effort, the $4 million Taxiway A Rehabilitation Project, recently improved safety and functionality. The project involved realigning and reconstructing 1,800 feet of Taxiway A, rehabilitating an additional 2,480 feet, and adding a new 400-foot taxilane connector. Enhancements included improved geometry for future taxiway connections, edge lighting, signage, markings, and drainage upgrades.

Phase One Details
The first phase of the project focused on realigning and reconstructing the section of Taxiway A between Taxiways A1 and A2. The new layout maintained a 512.5-foot separation from the centerline of Runway 8-26, exceeding the FAA’s minimum 400-foot requirement for ADG-III aircraft. This realignment removed a bend north of Runway 26 and created a 90-degree intersection, allowing for better alignment with future taxiway developments.

Supporting Infrastructure Improvements
In addition to the geometric realignment, the project included the relocation and installation of edge lighting, repositioning of taxiway signs, updated pavement markings, and enhanced drainage systems—ensuring long-term safety and operational efficiency for airport users.
