Sage Ranch Stormwater Evaluation – Fernley, NV

Project Overview

J-U-B ENGINEERS conducted a comprehensive assessment of the existing stormwater infrastructure across multiple developments in the City of Fernley, Nevada. These developments were originally designed under varying methodologies and standards across different jurisdictions, resulting in inconsistent stormwater management performance.

Evaluation and Data Collection

J-U-B reviewed and analyzed:

  • Existing drainage reports

  • As-built drawings

  • Historical jurisdictional design requirements

Through this process, data gaps in previous studies and incomplete storm drain asset records were identified. J-U-B then performed in-field infrastructure assessments and detailed hydrologic analyses to gain a complete understanding of current system conditions.

Infrastructure Inventory and Deficiency Analysis

The team inventoried and evaluated the existing stormwater infrastructure, identifying and categorizing system deficiencies. This allowed J-U-B to pinpoint areas most vulnerable to flooding and prioritize necessary improvements.

Planning and Recommendations

J-U-B developed preliminary designs and provided opinions of probable costs to support the City of Fernley’s capital improvement planning efforts. In addition to project-specific recommendations, the team offered guidance on non-project-related operations and maintenance practices to enhance overall system performance.

Final Deliverable

All findings, including prioritized project recommendations and maintenance strategies, were documented in a detailed report to guide the City in mitigating flood risks and planning for future stormwater infrastructure improvements.
