Project Overview
The Pershing County Water Conservation District contracted with J-U-B to analyze, design, and manage construction for repairs and improvements to their 84” diameter steel flume conveying flow from the Rodgers Canal over the Humboldt River. J-U-B evaluated the condition of the flume pipe, and the hydraulics of the canal-flume system.
Environmental Services and Collaboration
J-U-B designed replacement of a 60 linear foot section of the corrugated metal pipe flume inlet, canal transition headwalls and wingwalls, and a 20 linear foot section of 84” diameter steel pipe on the flume outlet. J-U-B also designed expansion joints to accommodate expansion and contraction of the flume through the large temperature variations the flume experiences.
Client Impact
J-U-B provided bidding services, and managed construction between irrigation seasons with no disruptions in irrigation service.
