Project Overview
The Ogden Valley Parks Service Area (OVPSA) board’s Liberty Parks committee engaged J-U-B to provide master planning services for a comprehensive redesign of the 10-acre Liberty Park. While the park has long served the local community, its existing amenities were developed incrementally as funding allowed, resulting in a fragmented layout lacking cohesion and accessibility. Additionally, the town acquired several surrounding acres that needed to be integrated into the updated park design.
Design Goals and Community Needs
The OVPSA board prioritized creating a park that would be accessible and functional for a wide range of ages, activity levels, and group sizes, while preserving key areas used for traditional community celebrations and gatherings.
Final Design Features
To meet these goals, the final master plan includes:
-
Multi-purpose fields
-
Pickleball/basketball courts
-
Looped walking trails
-
Shaded passive recreation spaces
-
Pavilions
-
A small indoor recreation facility
This thoughtful redesign brings cohesion, accessibility, and expanded recreational opportunities to Liberty Park, ensuring it continues to serve as a vibrant community gathering space for years to come.
