Overview
The Airport determined that the majority of the existing airfield circuits were past their useful life and did not meet standards for airfield electrical systems. As the prime consultant, J-U-B’s Electrical Engineering Group conducted detailed site investigations prior to preparing detailed construction documents to upgrade all airfield lighting and control systems. A project phasing plan was completed in coordination with airport management and users. Full bid and construction services were provided including a full-time resident engineer to observe and manage the construction phase of the project.
The project included:
- Airport lighting system as-built research and documentation
- Construction phasing plan
- New 3L/21R runway lighting
- New threshold lights
- New taxiway lights for taxiways A, B, C, D and E
- Replaced direct bury electrical cables with new conduit and wire
- New electrical vaults
- Pilot activated airport lighting control system (PAALC)
- FAA construction and closeout documentation
- Full time construction observation – Resident Engineer
