Discipline Plans
Washington County Historic Preservation Plan, Idaho
J-U-B planners and cultural resource specialists supported the Washington County Historic Preservation Commission under a contract with the Local Highway Technical Assistance Council. Since the Cove Road Bridge was determined to be eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places, a proposed bridge replacement project was determined to result in adverse effects to the property. Stipulation I of the Memorandum of Agreement identified measures that would satisfactorily address the undertaking’s adverse effects on this historic bridge. J-U-B successfully managed the three-phase project by not only completing the County’s first Historic Preservation Plan but also surveying key historic properties survey and designing an interpretive sign/display for installation after completion of the new bridge. J-U-B was responsible for project administration and historic preservation planning, including research, analysis and public engagement.
Parks and Recreation Master Plan, Western Weber County, Utah
The Taylor West Weber Park District was organized as a special service district in 2017 to provide park service for the communities of Taylor and West Weber. Due to the fairly new formation of the Park District, the board chose to develop a “road map” or Master Plan to help guide future decisions. J-U-B conducted a comprehensive inventory of existing parks and open space within and adjacent to the Park District’s boundaries. This information was entered into a GIS database and used to perform robust analyses of the data and prepare maps. A survey was developed and distributed to residents within the district boundaries soliciting input regarding desired types of parks and open space, amenities, activities, programs, and funding mechanisms. The proposed level of service at build-out was also examined, and recommendations were prepared to guide the establishment of future recreational opportunities and amenities, including desired park classifications, general park locations, and service areas.
Central Bench Neighborhood Transportation Plan, Boise, Idaho
J-U-B assisted Ada County Highway District (ACHD) in the update of the Central Bench Neighborhood Transportation Plan. This plan built upon ACHD’s adopted policy framework planning documents and regional pedestrian and bicycle-related plans were reviewed, summarized, and considered. J-U-B provided planning/technical/GIS/mapping support for the plan and technical support for the public involvement phase of the planning process. This plan was prepared in close communication with ACHD planners and engineers. It was also reviewed by the Bicycle Advisory Committee, Pedestrian Advisory Group and the ACHD Commission. Ultimately, the Transportation Plan will be used to assess and evaluate future projects for funding and implementation
