Project Overview
J-U-B is providing construction management, inspection, and testing services for a roadway improvement project on I-25 between CO 14 and Owl Canyon Road. The project focuses on replacing deteriorating concrete panels and diamond grinding the existing pavement to create a smoother driving surface.
Scope of Work
Improvements include concrete panel removal and replacement, joint sealing, full-depth reclamation where necessary, installation of crossovers and temporary lane configurations, cable rail installation, and updated pavement markings.
Project Complexity
This high-use segment of I-25 involves complex traffic phasing and requires intensive public involvement and clear communication to minimize disruptions. The project was initiated following a Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) audit that identified smoothness issues along the corridor.
Project Team and Coordination
J-U-B is leading a blended team consisting of J-U-B staff, CDOT inspectors, and subconsultants, including Yeh, who provided material testing. Thanks to the diligent efforts of the team, all project requirements were successfully met, ensuring continued FHWA funding for CDOT.
