Public Involvement

The City of Logan is committed to involving the public in planning projects. As such, an extensive public involvement effort is underway for the Logan 200 East Study to determine public interest and discover issues important to the public. To date, the project team has engaged the public in the following ways:

  • One-on-one interviews with representative stakeholders
  • Informational flier distribution along the study corridor
  • Three public open houses
  • Established a community advisory committee that meets monthly to discuss the project
  • Creation of a project web site

Thus far stakeholders have identified several issues for consideration. Some of the issues include the following:

  • Maintenance of trees in the areas
  • Safety for school children along the corridor
  • Access to parks
  • Bike lanes
  • Traffic concerns

When is the next public event?

  • The public will have another opportunity to comment on the Environmental Assessment (EA) at a public hearing tentatively scheduled for early Fall 2008.
