Study Overview

Under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) each environmental study must have a purpose and need to guide the study process. The Logan 200 East study has outlined the following as guidelines for the process.

Study Purpose: The purpose of the Logan 200 East Study is to assist the City of Logan and the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) in determing the best means of increasing mobility and improving safety along the 200 East corridor. The study will analyze the following areas along the route:

  • How does 200 East fit regionally? What other facilities tie in?
  • What will traffic look like in the future? Where will traffic go?
  • What other modes of transportation use this corrdior?
  • Where are the accident hot spots? How do we address them?

Study Need: 200 East is a major route on the Cache Metropolitan Planning Organization’s (CMPO) Long Range Plan (LRP). Any improvements to the 200 East corridor will be consistent with the CMPO’s LRP. Additionally the study is needed to:

  • Enhance connectivity
  • Increase access and mobility for all modes of travel
  • Improve traffic flow
