Overview
Santaquin City, located in Utah County south of Provo is experiencing strong residential growth. The community has more than doubled in size from 2,800 people to over 7,400 people in the last 10 years. In 2006, to help meet the needs of the community, Santaquin selected J-U-B to provide city engineering services. J-U-B is currently providing engineering services for many public works projects including standard construction drawings, water supply, pressure irrigation, stormwater master planning, transportation, wastewater collection, and wastewater treatment.
This project included:
- Investigating the capacity of the existing lagoons
- Determining if there are viable interim/long term measures to extend the life of the lagoons
- Planning for effluent reuse
- Planning for wastewater treatment for the 20-year and build out periods
- Performing a life cycle cost analysis for comparison of the alternatives
- Working with the City to identify a recommended alternative and develop a capital facilities plan for wastewater treatment
